We've made a few changes ....

Doodles hasn't changed but the world has, so in order to open again we've had to implement a few measures to keep your painting experience as safe as it can be.

The biggest change is you will now need to book and pay a deposit in order to paint at the studio.

  • We will have a limited number of tables available in order to ensure there is plenty of space between each painting group.

  • You can book no more than 6 people in a painting group.

  • Please book a space for each person who will be visiting the studio whether they are painting or just watching.

  • The £1 deposit paid per painter will be used against the cost of the pottery they choose to paint. The £1 paid by non painters will be retained as a studio fee.

  • Each painting session will last 2 hours. If you haven't finished painting we will provide a takeaway kit so you can finish your piece at home.

  • Please wait at the front door of the studio to be shown to your table.

  • Please let us know in advance if you have additional requirements such as wheelchair access or highchairs.

  • Pushchairs can be left in our buggy park just outside the studio's side doors.

  • When you arrive you will be able to choose your item to paint and will then be shown your table.

  • We ask that you remain seated during your session rather than move about the studio. Our staff will provide table service for everything else you need.

  • No food will be allowed in the studio.

  • Where possible please pay by card rather than cash.

  • Don't worry, we will still be on hand to offer support with any aspect of your painting.

  • At all times please follow social distancing guidelines as set out by the Government.

  • Failure to observe safety measures will result in service not being provided.

You can also book a time to choose & collect a takeaway painting kit

  • We have 15 mins slots throughout the day for you to come by and choose your pottery to paint at home

  • Please arrive at the side door of the studio, by the Record Shop, at your booked time.

  • You will then choose your pottery and either a paint or foam clay colour set to take home.

  • We will also provide brushes and instructions if required.

  • Where possible please pay by card rather than cash.

  • You will need to return any painted items for glazing & firing.

Now here's the bit where we need your help!

We're very proud of Doodles, a business that has taken the two of us 7 years to make it the place it is today. We've always had fantastic support from our Doodles family of customers, a lot of whom have become friends, and we have missed seeing you all so much.

We want to still be painting, getting messy with clay, encouraging creativity in others and being a safe, happy space for so many when the threat of Covid 19 has receded further. Our aim will be to have the studio open for all again to pop in when they want to or need to, without booking, without time constraints and without the need to the keep our distance.

In order to do this we would ask you to be mindful of the fact that with limited customer numbers coming into the studio, our income, and therefore our ability to pay the bills, will be greatly reduced. So we are asking that spaces, wherever possible, are used by painters rather than observers. We also know many of our lovely customers have pieces to finish painting and we want you to do this but maybe you could consider a take away kit to do this at home.

We will be limited to the number of people in the studio at one time and if most of these spaces are taken by people finishing off pieces or by family members there to watch, we will not survive the next few months. We really don't like asking this of you but we know you understand why we are.

Please contact us before booking if you want to visit the studio to finish a piece you have already paid for and we will arrange a a time for you to come in if you would rather not paint at home.

We're really looking forward to seeing you again, all be it at a bit more of a distance from usual, and we can't wait to see what gets painted.

See you soon
