Join Masie the Touring Potter for a taster throwing experience. Spend 1.5 hours learning about the art of throwing. The class will begin with an introduction to the ceramic process and a demonstration, then you will prepare your clay and start using the wheel.

In the class you will produce 2 small pots or bowls on the potters wheel. At the end of the class you will get to choose an artisan glaze colour for you pots to be finished in.

Masie will fire and glaze your pieces at her home studio in Dorset, then return them to Doodles to be collected. This process can take up to 8 weeks.

Suitable for complete beginners, these taster sessions are for adults and secondary school aged children.

Aprons will be provided but old clothes are best as it can get a little messy! Short nails and long hair tied back is recommended.

Places are limited to 4 people per session who each get their own wheel to work on.

Join Maisie the touring potter to craft your very own mug and coaster set! Spend 1.5 hours learning how to throw your own mug on the potters wheel. Maisie will then show you how to pull a handle and attach it to your mug. The coasters will be handbuilt using beautiful stamps and rolling pins to add some texture and detail to your work.

At the end of the class Maisie will need to take the clay masterpieces away to be fired in the kiln. She will offer a selection of stoneware glazes for your pieces to be coated in so you get to choose your own finish. They will be returned to you when she is next Touring in Spalding! Please note on the rare occasion a piece gets broken in the firing process Maisie will make you a replacement.

This class is recommended to those who have already taken part in a taster class with Maisie in the past, and are for adults and secondary school aged children.
